In rtd, its open season. There are no rules. You have to be ready for everything. You have no clue what your opponent's god is or what the map is before the start, so once you see that 5 seconds of loading info, you have to know what to do and how you're guna do it before you click your tc. Here im just going to help you out by telling you what to do with thor vs other civs/maps etc.
Let's start with Norse
Norse <--------------
Loki: Ok no doubt you need to rush the loki or at least win in classical. On low hunt maps, you should be able to win this easy because if you go a little extra on wood your TA spam should kill his Hersir rush/raids. If he decides on a low hunt such as oasis, just micro your vils and head for his home town and destroy whatever is out of tc fire. If not, find his forward base and take out houses first then the temple. On high hunt, i suggest a 4:20 advance and knock out the forward base. If you know he's not rushing, it is also safe to go 5:07 and build up huge army with 3 brax+temple pumping an array of soldiers/calv and just rip the forward base to pieces. He'll get scared and quit once you reach his town and hit his gold. It's not a bad idea to go for Loki wood vils because if he's rushing he'll have sucky wood and if he's not, then he'll need TA to counter your ulfsarks. If worse comes to worse and its an even match, gold starve him. On water maps, up in 4:40 or 4:04 and win the sea, but make sure you have some hersir handy. Don't go TA cuz you'll need the wood. On maps such as anatolia, claim both sea's or at least one and once you halt his rush, fight to the death for map controll at a nice forward base surrounded by gold.
Odin: Hmm, Odin is interesting. He might rush, raid, or FH, and he's good at all three. Just hope that the map will screw your opponent up, because Odin is hard to play and he relies a lot on hunt (you at least have dwarves to make to save you). I suggest that on high hunt, you should do what i do and up ealy (like 4:40, with 7 on food, 5 on wood, and 4 dwarves on gold) and make 3 brax pump all raiding calv and rush-raid. Push him into his base and you'll win with easy. If you let him expand, you'll loose terribly. Remember that if you rush, you can't keep retreating cuz he'll just heal (remember this when you invoke forest fire). So if he makes a forward base, rush till he can't keep up. This includes ulf/TA only. I never go forsetti but if you like ulfsarks, its ok if your rushing. In long battles, go hard on food and upgrade/cycle valykree. On low hunt, raid or he'll FH.
Thor: Muahaha, whoever is smarter will win. You have to out-micro and be fast. Don't resign if you loose a forward base. Just boom and try and protect your gold miners. On high hunt, go 5:07 (8 food, 5 wood, 5 gold) and get a huge amy like i explained with Loki. Get copper weapons, pierce ups, and winter axe once you have the gold, then its gg. I suggest Frejya always, because trolls suck vs hersirs and he'll definetely micro. On meddy and other water maps, please win the sea. Be fast and agressive because thor sucks at recovering from water battle losses. On low hunt, go heavey TA and valykree spam.
Atty <---------------
Kronos: Definately advance under 5 mins. On low hunt, go 4:20 and get a fast army. If you catch him trying to snag a tc in archaic, get massive army and tear down the new tc. Doon't waste Forest fire because it might help you on maps such as marsh to kill tc. Thor is ok against a krush butthe key is to be fast. 5:07 is the max for an adv vs a kronos. Beware of low hunt. On meddy, you must go 4:04 (find the BO on another site) and get another dock. dont send hersirs to his dock. keep that at yours for the valor+oracles+prom.
Oranos: Most likely he will 4:30, so watch out for maps such as midgard or highland because he might forget the sea altogether and go for your dock and then your town. On oasis, he might rush like a kronos with 5/6 vil, minus the decon gp, but with equally effective shockwave on your gold vils. So be fast and go 5:07. I do that every time. Win the sea, but watch out for the 4:40 dock rush. In a 2 tc boom, kill the newer tc because he'll use that for either wood or gold, hopefully wood because a nice forest fire and RC should kill at least 2 vils, and even more when they come out of the tc as it dies. Oranos is prolly guna 2 tc boom on low hunt because he's good at it, so keep that in mind. The key to beating an oranos* is to spam MUs in heroic. GG no re
Gaia: You wont come across many in rtd but if you do RAIDRAIDRAIDRAIDRAIDRAID! You MUST keep constant pressure on her vils. Go with a nice 4:30 adv and 3 brax pump RC and kill everything. If done correctly you should have like 20 RC within 10 minutes. This goes for low hunt too, only you might wana cycle TA in one of the brax instead of all 3 brax on RC.
Greek <------ [my weakness]
Zeus: Idk how much help im going to be here because Im not the best vs greek, but with zeus i would 5:07 rush with 3 brax because you will loose late game. Play till the end, because rag + fw might do it. Make him waste ceasefire if he gets it, and if he still has it and you need to go heroic, its ok to go skadi unless you plan on rag + fw. On meddy, WIN THE SEA FAST!!!! or he will kill you with hydra spam, and once he gets heroic, you should automatically admit defeat and go for a quick rag + titan.
Hades: I have never beat a hades in rtd. Yup, i know. I am such a noob. But it's true ='(. It's beem close. I usually chicken out of early fights and go with a 2 tc FH @ 8:30 (which is one of my specialties). Half the time i get rushed with cyclopse+heros+pest+toxies. This kills me on water maps. Just play what the map gives you, imo.
Poseidon: be glad you have him out of the 3 greeks. Raid him ^^ yes, raid the possy then go FH. Make sure you win the sea fast before the hydra spam. Rush on low hunt, because oasis is poseidon's best map. He'll also give you trouble on anatolia, so make sure you have 1 sea to yourself.
Eggy <-----------------------
Isis: Very hard indeed. I pretend im atty and go with a fast raid, pushing her off gold as quick as possible and using my hersir to take out towers. force her to make priests, which are expensive. Its also not a bad idea to FH a wall her in on watering hold, so that she'll waste a/e. In order to prepare for a/e, cycle hersir/huskie and claim a tc. be prepared to knock seige down with ulfs/vils. On low hunt, its 50/50 with me whether to 2 tc boom or fast raid, so do either. Remember that if you choose to fast raid, make her use a/e!!!!! then when she does, retreat and stop making any unit that costs food and advance going bragi.
Set: Like i said in my intoduction, in rtd, its open season. A set player WILL VILL RUSH. I got hacked twice in rtd vs a set who vill spawned and vil rushed (he had like 40 vils in 4 mins, haha). So go 4:20 and build around tc. He might also FM and meteor, so also be prepared for that. But ALWAYS go fast advance ^^. Remember that a set villie rush has a totally different BO then a normal eggy, so he'll have crap resources.
Ra: Ehh, Thor sucks vs Ra. On midgard, get 2 ulfs going at game start with 2 docks and rush him hard. He'll run out of gold ealy, and if he decided to make ships just make 3-8 longboats + burning pitch to make him stop. He'll need to make brax after you get 3 brax going with RC/TA. Gold starve ftw. Beat him in classical. On low hunt, you better pray he sucks. If he is 175+, then gg. 2 TC FH + fast farm will destroy you, so gl with that. Push him off resources if you want a classical victory, but its 50/50 with me whether to 2 tc FH or raid early.
Ok so that's my little guide for you. I hope this helps, but here's the lesson i want you to learn:
In order to be good at a certain god, you have to know how to play other gods. You should learn different tactics with different gods before you train your main, because once you have a feel of what the other god's recourses look like at what points and how vulnerable you are at what times, you then know how to react when you're facing that god in rtd. For example, i know what the recourses are guna look like for an odin on tundra, so I play accordingly. I also know how vulnerable ra is when he is trying to FH, so i play accordingly.
